TIS THE SEASON
December 6th, 2009 3:36 PM

Well, it’s the season. Do you dread this time of year because things a little tight, even a lot. Once again we are faced with some tough times and this time of giving and wanting and wanting and giving seems like a drag. My feeling is that we don’t have to feel that way. We can make ourselves feel differently and ignore the reality.

What reality? The reality is that we are the luckiest most blessed people on earth. We have lots of things to be happy about even in the midst of the problems. Put your faith in your God and be kind to one another and it will turn out right. Be positive and loving and pay it forward. This will change the entire outlook of your life. It has mine.

This past year has been tough for our family but we are still going forward and our family is loving and our God is Good all the time.

What's Up With Real Estate
October 26th, 2009 10:10 PM

Every time someone finds out that we are in Real Estate, the first question is "How is Real Estate coming along?"  I don't always know why they are asking so I just ask them.  The answers vary from just curious to I was thinking about selling or buying.

The truth of the matter is simply that some is up and some is down with the trend being up.  We think that it is good going up but when it goes up, price is going up.  So you see, the higher price is good for the seller and maybe not so good for the buyer.  This sounds on the surface that we are trying to have it both ways.  That is not the case.

The change in the market trend toward stabilization is going up.  In other words, you can now have a little more confidence that the decision to buy this particular property was a good one and the decision to sell was a good one.  And that is what is up about the market.  You can always complain that you paid too much or you got too little but a stable market with upward trends that are moving at a reasonable rate are good for both buying and selling.  In fact, they are also good for investing.  More people have more money and there is strength in the economy.

We have to stop the doom and gloom and look forward with a smile on our faces and trust in the future.

The BIG C
October 17th, 2009 10:10 AM

Last October, my dear spouse went in for a followup mammogram and the Radiologist found that the spot in her breast had changed. He sent Sandy to have a biopsy and you guessed it, she had a malignancy.   That sent us into a tailspin for a few days.

We went to see a surgeon on the recommendation of our Family Physician.  We did not know anything about him.  After meeting him and discussing the surgery with him, we felt that he had been sent to us to protect her from the cancer.  He had great faith in God and he simply told us that he would cure her. At about the same time our friends at Church heard of Sandy's Cancer and the prayers began to cover her like a blanket.  Our family members around the country set their prayer groups to work for her and Sandy was taken care of.

The next step after successful surgery was the oncologist.  He is a devout man who told us that his job was to see to it that Sandy did not die of Cancer.  After some special tests for DNA chemo was ruled out and reconstruction began.  The plastic surgeon was terrific and has done a great job.  Sandy had some muscle and nerve damage during one of the operations but that is being taken care of by the hospital.

Through all of this, Sandy was not afraid.  She instilled this in our children and in me.  We all trusted in a good outcome and we were granted that gift through the grace of God.

We have been blessed.  I guess what I'm trying to say is "Keep faith and believe in the healing power of your God.  Engage your friends and relatives in prayer and trust.  You may not always be cured as Sandy has been but you will blessed.

What do we do now?
October 15th, 2008 2:19 PM

All of us have been on the roller coaster and will probably continue to do so.  With the talk on the news media one would think that there is no chance you could get a home loan right now. WRONG.  Mortagage companies are not running down the streets throwing money around but there is credit available.

On my web site here you can easily get a quote and approval in a matter of hours.  Click here for Loan Approval.  There is no obligation and I think you will be pleased with the result.

Check with your bank or other mortgage company and see what they have to offer.  Then give me a call and we can set something up for you.  This is a great time to buy!

Thanksgiving
November 22nd, 2007 9:26 PM

Well, here it is Thanksgiving Day.  What do you have to be thankful for today.  I know that I am having a great time with my family.  Tonight we had a great Turkey Dinner with all the trimmings.  We said thanks to our lord above for all that He had given us.  We thanked Him for our family and friends.  I truly hope that all of you who read this will take a couple of minutes and reflect on what is good in your lives and stop listening to all the naysayers.  I was told a long time ago that when you get around negative people, get away from them as fast as you can.  I think that that is even better advise today that when I first heard it.

Give thanks for what you have and look to the future with optimism.

Curb Appeal
July 10th, 2007 12:01 PM

While you are thinking about selling your house or if you already have your house on the market, try this.  Go outside and cross the street.  Take your camera with you and then look back at your house.  Take a picture or better still, take several pictures from different angles.  Get them printed and see what they look like.

If these pictures say, "Welcome", then you are home free.  However, most often you will see something that could be changes or cut or planted that would make your house look great.  With so many houses on the market at this time, it only takes about 3 seconds for someone to decide not to look because of their impression from the curb.  Not fair you say, well it probably isn't but it is reality.

If you don't have curb appeal, and that goes for the on-line services, you just won't get the lookers to see how beautiful the inside is.  Plant a few flowers and keep the grass cut.  It will do wonders.

Summer Solstice
June 24th, 2007 11:49 AM

Summer is here with a vengeance and we have passed the longest day of the year.  Heat indexes are rising and the UV index goes higher.

A few simple precautions will help you and your children through the day.  Use sunscreen whenever you are exposed to the sun for more than 10 to 15 minutes.  Watch for bites on you and others and apply medication before the itch becomes unbearable and the scratching starts to leave REAL scratches that could lead to infection.  Try to avoid the 12 to 4 time frame outside.  You burn the worst then.

These are just some silly simple things we need to remember and take care of ourselves and those we love.

Enjoy the summer.  Vitamin D is good for us and the sun makes that happen.  Enjoy your vacation.  It can revive your spirit even if you come back tired.  Pray for our troops who are in foreign lands protecting us.

God Bless You.
